Does anyone have a few rounds of Weatherby 340?

A good friend of mine just got a gun that shoot Weatherby 340 from his father who recently passed.  He has talked about wanting to shoot it, but not finding any rounds reasonably priced.  Anyone here have some stuffed in their safe they aren't going to use?  I'd like to get a few and surprise him with them next weekend when we plan on going shooting.

Thanks

Wowsa... $2.00 a pop for just brass...still, probably the easiest return on investment to justify buying a reloading set up.

Yea it's pricey.  He was at first talking about selling the gun.  I told him I'd buy it, figuring I'd sell it back to him in 5 years when he changed his mind realizing he wanted to keep it…I've since convinced him to keep it since it was his dads.  Thanks for any help as you can guys.  Sounds like we need to get into reloading, this being just one more reason.

Sorry Squirrel, the box I was thinking of was .300 Weatherby.  Thanks for making me look though.  Got a box of 20 unfired factory brass that I'm going to run over to the classifieds and post up.  I think I have run and reloaded for all the expensive rounds.  .300 and .340 Wby Magnums and the .458 Socom.  That's why I run .308 now....LOL.

Maybe Kahrman has a round or two left, he got my .340 a few years back.

I've got about a box and a half, it's old and of unknown origin.
Most is factory weatherby, but I'm not sure about all of it.

You can have it if you want it, I don't think I'll ever shoot it.

Wouldn't want to plink with that thing. Five bucks everytime you pull the trigger ---------------------ouch! The original owner was either a reloader, had money to burn, or just never shot the thing. Maybe a little of all of the above.

I will let him know about the brass for sure.  I actually could not wait till we went shooting and called him to break the news a little while ago.  He was super pumped.  Thanks again Kurt!  As for shooting it, I'm pretty sure we will be firing off at least a few rounds soon weather permitting.  To check the sights of course.  I'll get some pics when we go out.
