My good friend Greg Lee is planning to run an AR-15 course at Guns and Leather soon. This will be mostly understanding the gun and assembly.

Call for details.

Greg Lee taught my AR-15 armorer's course. I worked with him when I was at Metro Nashville PD...he is squared away. Greg is one of those guys that would give you the shirt off of his back.

Its amazing to me how I learn about things going on at my place of business from TGO and not from around here :doh:.

I'll see what info I can dig up and post it regarding time/date/what you need to bring/what is going to be covered.

Attend the 1 Day AR -15 Civilian Operator Maintenance Course

You are invited to attend the 1 Day AR -15 Civilian Operator Maintenance Course. The course will cover the following areas:

  1. Characteristics of the AR-15
  2. Nomenclature of the AR-15
  3. Operation of the AR-15
  4. Cycle of Operation
  5. Clearing the Rifle/Carbine
  6. Function Checking the Rifle
  7. Basic Disassembly – Operator level
  8. Detailed Disassembly – Lower receiver
  9. Malfunctions, Stoppages, Corrective Actions – Identify malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
  10. Perform Maintenance – Cleaning, inspecting and replacing worn parts.

When: Guns & Leather

What to bring:Your AR -15 Rifle, cleaning kit and one magazine. (Armorers tools will be available for use)

(Note: Armorers Tool kits, parts and accessories will be available for you to use or purchase on the day of the course)

Instructor: Greg Lee

Greg is currently a Training Academy Armorer and Instructor with a Large Police Department in Tennessee. He has over 25 years of experience in Law Enforcement and over 20 years as a Firearms and Use of Force Instructor. He is retired from the United States Air Force, Air National Guard as a Combat Arms Training & Maintenance Section and Security Forces Supervisor. He is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Association and International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors. He has provided training to Federal, State, County and Municipal Law Enforcement Agencies from across the United States.

Damn! I will be at the CIS Defensive Pistol training that weekend. Oh, well, maybe another time. Please try to have another AR class at some point.
