Steel Challenge - Music City Tactical Shooters 03/02/14

Music City Tactical Shooters will host a 4 stage official Steel Challenge match this Sunday, March 2nd 2014.  Greg (MD of Steel Challenge matches) is working on the stages and they will be out soon.  The shooting bays had some erosion due to the recent weather.  They have been fixed as much as could be done last Sunday after the Outlaw Steel match.  Bay 3 is now available.  Until the weather cooperates, Bay 1 and Bay 2 will have some rework done to eliminate the standing water toward the back of the shooting bay to increase our normal match distances.

Hope to see you there!

From wiki..

The Steel Challenge is a speed shooting championship and governed by the Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA). The targets, made of steel, range in size from 10" round plates to 18"x24" square plates.

We just started and this is our inaugural match. You start from "surrender" and at the buzzer let them rip.

There are .22 rim fire divisions that start from low ready so you don't need a holster just a gun rug or something to stow the gun between stages.

Here is a video from Ruger.

We will be following USPSA divisions Open, Limited, Production, Single Stack, Revolver loaded to division capacities. Also divisions for rimfire pistol both open and irons as well as rimfire rifle.

Hope this helps!

Do we load magazines to their max?

Steel Challenge is a perfect example of you cant miss fast enough to win. A single miss is enough for your competitors to overtake you.

Steel is a real weakness for me and I look forward to this game helping build my speed and confidence on steel.

Wish I could have made it. Weather was crappy here so I decided to stay home.
