Range report...bad

Because of the price, I've only fired about 40 rounds of Hornady .45+P 230gr TAP FPD through my Glock 21SF with no issues, they are what I keep loaded in it now. Just wonder if it's the combination of +P and the heavy 230gr. bullet that the XD's don't like? How about 185gr. +P's?

Since I haven't shot 185gr+Ps through my XD45 (and have no interest in that weight in .45ACP), I don't know. I'm guessing the results would be the same since the problem seems to be the slide velocity.

I also believe that if someone were to make heavier recoil springs for the 4" version or, more importantly, heavier magazine springs the problem would go away. As an XD armorer, I have always felt that the XD45's mag springs could stand to be stronger. I believe the results/experiences that I've related in this thread prove that. 4 out of 8 of our XD45's experienced the problem (mine did not). I just think that the XD45 mag springs teeter on the threshold when firing +P ammunition.

Does Wolff not have some springs for the XD?

Only recoil springs for the 5" XD45. When Wolff comes out with extra power XD45 mag springs, I'll be the first to buy.

Let me clarify...they only fired the one mag full. After the malfunctions and weapon-light launches, we said "to hell with that" and quit shooting the HST.

Gotcha. Also glad you could decipher my gud gramer:D
