The Untold Story - US Coast Guard in Vietnam

This is very interesting to me. Not just the video but for the comments made by some of the VN Vets on the Together We Served Forum. I did not know that the Coast Guard was performing extractions the same time as the Air Force all over Vietnam. That the Coast Guard was running Riverine Patrols BEFORE the Navy and that the Coast Guard was running Special Ops missions in VN. If you look at the Military Times papers (Army Times Marine Corps Times etc) in the back there are always guys looking for someone to verify their service or that they were wounded or injured in Combat in VN (And other wars) for Benefits purposes. Used to be a lot of CG guys doing those requests. Well one of the guys on the other Forum who was there said to someone who had mentioned it "Oh yea, those guys were active all over the V and VII Corps areas" and a Spec Ops guy said "yep, they ran missions all over Vietnam and the Government wont even recognize them as Combat Vets or even acknowledge their service". If that is true, wow, what a disservice.
