Resealed my concrete deck with the rustoleum a while back and was happy with the way it went on, covered, and applied.  I will tell you I used a standard roller, not the one they have in their kit, and it was easier (tried both).  Not sure how that would equate to wood.  I have some left if you would like to try it on a few places before you go all in on it.

Just let me know.

All i've used is the flood semi-transparent water based stain, which is purt thick and soaks into cracks purt good. It says recoat vertical surfaces about every two years and horizontal surfaces about annually, which seems about right in my experience. Could probably stretch it a year longer.

That flood semi transparent water based was about $16 a gallon and I like the red color of the "clear cedar" color. They also sell oil based in clear or opaque. The oil opaque is most spensive, but they say you have to scrape that stuff for recoating, and I hate scraping, specially something as rough as a deck. I just put the stuff on with a brush, but it would roll. Rolling annoys me worse than a brush.

A friend had a redwood deck that lasted years, then it was getting kinda rough looking and he decided to paint it with something waterproof that doesn't breathe and it rotted out a year later. I think it was so waterproof that it held in the moisture too much. Dunno nothin about it. Edited by Lester Weevils
