Google Chromecast

I just picked up one of these and it's a pretty darn cool device.  For those not in the know you plug it into a HDMI port on your TV and it allows you to stream content from your computer, phone, or tablet to your TV.  Most likely I'll just use it for NetFlix, which I watch more than cable anyway.  If my cable didn't come free with my internet I would be canceling it. 

 

Only gripe is honestly it could have a better interface and I had to DL Google Chrome on my laptop because that's the only browser it works with.  But hey, for $35 this thing is hard to beat.

My wife received an AppleTv box similar to what you've got and it's been fine except for it only working with Apple products. I use Google Chrome anyways so it may be worth it for me to pick up the Chromecast.

The worst thing about this thing is that it is made by Google.  I still refuse to use the Google search engine.  I'm certainly not a Google fan, but in this case they have produced a product that meets my needs and they are selling it for a fair price.  If Google wants to spy on me about all they are going to get is what I watch on Netflix.  Plus I will only be using Chrome for the Chromecast.  If another company came out with a similar device at a comparable price I'd be all over it.
