Welcome from east tn but please don't tell us about how we do things wrong down here. Let us learn on our own.
JK,

I'm not like that.  If I move somewhere I assimilate to that area.  I want to learn as much as I can so I can make an educated decision.

Im going to stay out of this one. Lmao. I've been here since 98. From staten island myself. Just remember one thing, anything you learned from the north please drop it at the Mason Dixon line. Other than that welcome. Lol
TGO is really a great place. A lot of interesting stuff in this forum. I am curious though, how in the world did you get a carry permit lol.

Carry permit "restricted" in Suffolk county is only to and from the range. I have a non residents Utah CCW so i can carry in sbout 34 other states too.

Those Utah licenses are useless to me. The only states I need to carry in on a regular basis--NY, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine--do not reciprocate.

And for those finding themselves bewildered by what cheif sailer is even talking about....NY has "License classes" ie target, business, LE, etc. For "target" you are only allowed to carry your gun on your person from your house to the range and back lol. Not kidding. This is why it's so important to remain vigilant and not just say "oh it will never heppen in TN" because 50 years ago someone in NY said "never in America". Now look at them...
