Hello from New York (Long Island)

Hello Everyone

I'm from New York, Long Island and I joined this forum because I am thinking of moving to Tenn when I retire.  I'm a gun owner and have my pistol permit also.  I'm looking to learn more about firearms and about your state and places to maybe purchase a vacation home.  Thanks.

Howdie.

Welcome for the most part (as much as a damn yankee can be), but buy all fucking means, leave your yankee ways behind.

I kid, but it's true.  :D

Sincerely,

The Welcome Wagon

I'm looking to leave this liberal sinkhole and move to a free state.  Just let me have my guns and golf and I'll be fine.

Sounds like we can get along.

BTW, stay away from the sinkhole at the other end of the state (Memphis).

Feel free to check out East Tn as well , the weather is good here, usually have 4 seasons, no state income or payroll taxes though sales taxes are a little steep, though no tax on barter or trade.Welcome !

I moved to East TN in 1994 and it is home!

If golf is your thing, Crossville isn't too far and property taxes are comparatively ridiculously low.

I am guessing you've never been busted for jay walking, double parking, spitting on the sidewalk or even farting in public to have qualified for the privilege to own both a gun AND be granted a license in the great state of New York.

Keep up the clean living!!!

Welcome from east tn but please don't tell us about how we do things wrong down here. Let us learn on our own.

@TC:  don't assume everyone from NY brings their "Yankee ways" with them when they want to move down south.   Most of NY is rural, upstate NY farmland.  And most of those folks are not Yankees in the way you think of them.  Just an FYI.
