Myself and some other guys went out and sent some lead down range today. I had a ton of fun, and got to sight the M14 with the new scope, as well as play with all kinds of fun toys with a bunch of like minded guys.

What is it with AR people shooting targets just several feet away?

very nice videos.

One thought and you guys have probably already considered this.

Since you are already doing behind cover and moving up range to engage targets.

Modify as needed.  I didn't count but that was about 15 shots before needing to reload?

Maybe setup a range where you have to engage targets say 14 targets with only 1 extra round.  If space allows, setup 1 cover place a person should get to with those 14 rounds for mag change.

Set it up so that with zero missing, the 15th round is in the pipe, drop mag and swap. and continue to the next set of targets.

Those videos were shot at today's Zombie match. Normal IDPA matches have 10rd limits, but this was an informal event. We had guys shooting from 8 to 15 rounds, maybe more. The smart people got fresh mags in transitions. The new mooks (me) were simply doing everything we could not to shoot ourselves or any of the other nice people around. :-) Vontar, your setup sounds great... as long as you don't miss much. I did. A lot. :-( Part of the fun is having to deal with problems like running dry, ftf, fte, etc!

I kept 6 mags on me each stage... don't think I ever used more than three today. I'd love some balls-out crazy stage with like a 90 round course of fire, a bunch up close and a few 4" steels wwwaaaayyyy out there just to make us mad! Haha! I've got capacity for 120rds with my M&P right now... I'd love to have to use it all!

We all train in gear, whether its for the SHTF, or for a police raid (one of the gentleman was an Leo). It was a Tactical Beard Owners Club meet, so we all had prior military experience, etc. Tapatalk ate my spelling

That always requires that Tac Cool pics have the black-out affect for OPSEC.  :tough:

I have some tuning work today, and I didn't realize this but it was missing a screw. Once thats squared away and I do some tuning I think it'll work much better. Ergonomically it was much better, and even though its heavy, it didn't kill me. It just wasn't grouping good and tight and it had a wandering POI that should be corrected shortly Tapatalk ate my spelling
