Not that I was ever moving to CA, but...

How in the world do they come up with the guns on this list?  You can no longer buy a Ruger Mark III Competition, Smith 617, or 648-2.  Lots of others that make no sense either.  Some 22lr, some larger calibers, but a lot of revolvers.

Check out this list of new (as of Feb 14th, 2014) pistols that are now removed from "the list" and can't be bought there legally.

Not looking for a California bashing thread as we all know the state of affairs there and do that quite well already.  We all know that they want to take them all, but this really has me scratching my head on a few specific ones.

The manufacturers probably did not submit a sample for reevaluation. The testing involves drop tests and some other tests and part of that law probably requires manufacturers to submit new samples periodically. The list probably represents the guns the manufacturers did not submit samples to the state. It is idiotic.

Also.... My understanding is that the manufacturers must submit three samples of the same gun for initial testing and approval to be added to the roster.  Once on the roster, the manufacturer must pay a yearly fee to keep the guns on the roster.  If they don't pay, then the gun is de-certified.

Just scrolling thru the 37 pages and running a mental check, I don't believe I have a single pistol or revolver that is California Certified.

Isn't that strange?

Seriously though, I have a few S&W revolvers, and not a one of them would be legal there.

California is the proof of concept for this strategy. If someone doesn't figure out how to sue them and win all of the occupied states will mirror this law. Look for the renewal fees to keep going up until no one sells in their various states.

Won't have to worry about concealed carry laws if there are no handguns to buy.
