Ive heard great things about his grips & was curious if anyone on here has ever bought any of his custom 1911 grips? Im toying with the idea of getting a set for the EMP. Ive talked with him over the phone about doing a custom spider web design for me & if I dont go that routh I was gonna get his punisher grips. Just wanting to know if Anyone here has had any experience with him.

Thanks

Yep, LD makes really nice 1911 grips and they're really nice quality. He's well received in the 1911 circle. Pretty sure Tungsten had a set on his Kimber at one point in time (or still does?).

I had a set of his Spyro Gyro's, and they seemed very nice. They came on the 1911 when I traded for it, and they went with the 1911 when I traded it.

The grips were very comfortable, and had plenty of texture for those of us who suffer from sweaty hands while shooting in warmer wheather.

Larry not only makes great grips (I owned several pair when I was "into" 1911s), he's also a class act.

Well I placed a order & he's gonna work a custom design for me. He's gonna work it up & let me give a approval before he does it. He seems like a great guy. I talked with him for about 30 minutes.

Ditto on Davidson's grips. I sent my EMP grips to Linville Knife and Tool so they can make me some of their grips for a little something different. http://www.linvilleknifeandtool.com/

So did you ever get your grips back? Curious to see how it looks.

As far as my grips go. Larry sent me a email last week ststing he was having some technical difficulties. I just sent him a email today to see if he has them worked out yet. Im just curious to see how my design turns out.

The old men at Linville are great!

They made me a nice custom knife using micarta grips and damascus steel.

We are getting ready to bring in around 50 of their grips, and are also working with them to make a special Hero-Gear grip.

No, well I did get my original grips back, but no new ones. After having the grips for a month, they sent them back with a note saying they couldn't do it. Kind of ticked me off, he was so sure he could do it, and then nothing. No communication after he got the grips other than to say he received the grips and MO. So, I have sent an email to LAZZA about some of his grips. But on the bright side I got a fabulous holster for it.

Awesome dude, err, or should I say Wicked. Did you give him a sketch or just describe to him what you had in mind?

I told him what I was wanting. Kinda tight knitted spiderman style webbing witht he webs exposed & let him take it from there. It took awhile for him to get his CNC machine to do the webbing the way I wanted but just from talking to him I believe hes very particular of what he lets leave his shop. If he couldnt figure the webbing out I was gonna get some punisher grips but Im glad these came out. I wanted someting like nobody else has.
