BATF publishes NFA processing times

I can't imagine anyone not e-filing now just due to the wait although I expect that to go up more and more as well.  Yes, you need a trust, but well worth it if you have one. (I say that as I just put in for an SBR and new Suppressor in the last two weeks via e-file).  I hope it stays at 3-4 months for e-files...

"Nine months from the date of pending" is the usual answer you get from the folks when you call the NFA branch.  However, it usually takes 2 to 3 months for the form to hit pending.

I guess that's about the time it takes for a carrier pigeon to get from Atlanta to Martinsburg.

That's why a lot more people have been bringing in trusts for e-filing.  The wait time is so much shorter.  Like Hozzie mentioned, it's been taking around 3 to 4 months for approvals.

I was thinking of possibly picking up a few nfa items this year. I did not realize how bad the wait times are....the regulations need to go away....

I just received my form1 with a Trust, via snail mail, right at 10 months door to door. I even had it returned back in Nov for an error correction.

I am expecting mine any day now. I was told by our examiner, not hired help, a few weeks ago it was going to be 2-3 more weeks.

I cannot wait. I will be chopping several barrels. I will have my 22 AR upper chopped to 4". I will have a 223 cut to 10" and my 300BO cut to 9".
