DPMS, GG&G, YHM, Spike's, Vltor, CMMG, A.R.M.S., Harris, EoTech and Tapco.

1 take down detent somewhere in the NE corner of the living room, 1 take down detent somewhere behind the TV... discounting the futile search for these parts and the additional trip to HeroGear for more, entire build time less than 1 hour.

Next: YHM suppressor adaptor, Gas Buster charging handle, YHM can...

Very nice. Who made the rail system?

I cheated and bought a complete YHM upper from Joe. The lower was a stripped Spike's I picked up in KY, internals DPMS, except for the trigger group which is a two stage CMMG.

That's going to be one long-ass rifle with a can on the end of it. If you run out of ammo, with that overall length you can just shift forward a little and poke 'em with the end of the rifle. :wave:

Congrats on your first build.

I was lucky not to have lost any detents. Luckily, I was warned and instructed to watch some video of a guy building an AR. Oh, and TN-Robocop let me borrow a pivot pin detent tool. That's a must have for an AR builder.

Hehehe, I built two ARs with just a flathead screwdriver and an old set of brass punches. Pain the butt!! When I get to do it again, I'm buying real AR tools!!

:wall::wall::D:rant:freakin springs and crap.... :yum::rant:

You can install the front pivot pin detent and spring without the tool, but it's a PITA and usually requires a few tries. That tool makes it infinitely easier. :D

Those are called Diamond Cuts.

Looks cool, and aids (claimed) in cooling and rigidity.

The barrels are from YHM and we have them in stock :death:

so what do you think of that eotech magnifier is it the swing to the side version?

I have an eotech & would like to have one of those if its remotely close to the asking price

The Magnifier is 3x on the FTS mount (A.R.M.S. swing to the side). I like it and have shot it out to 300yrds. It's fine, but really a poor-man's substitute for an ACOG (the Eotech setup is about $200-$300 cheaper). It seems to have a wee bit of parallax compaired to the ACOG (which has zero).

I do really like the Eotech and I do like the flexibility of being able to quickly set it aside to focus on closer targets, but I think next time I'll be getting a TA31 or TA33, merely out of personal preference.
