3600 seconds last night

Anyone catch 60 Minutes last night? They did interviews with Obama and McCain, each broken into 2 segments -political stuff and then family/background experiences. Very interesting. I thought McCain acquitted himself very well and actually did better than Obama at certain times. If the interviews provided a glimpse of the "real men" -as the two candidates actually are as opposed to the propaganda the campaigns produce- I can honestly say I will be less worried if McCain wins than I was before.

Still worried, just less so. Debates are coming up -the next chance for a candidate to make a move. It looks like McCain's post-Palin bounce has subsided and the race is tied or Obama has a small lead again. Let's see what's next.

i think the crash of the stock markets today will overshadow the debates for a few days. they are too busy trying to point out what is wrong with the federal loan buyout proposal.

I am surprised that you and several other Democrats I know are not supporting McCain as McCain is a Roosevelt Democrat just claiming to be a Republican.

True, but why support a RINO when you can support a Dem who actually claims to be a Dem?

I will say this, McCain will be "less bad" than the current situation.

Is Obama a real Dem? He is against almost everything my democrat friends believe in (religion, gun rights, etc...) but they are voting for him anyway. In the words of one of them; "he may be a crook but he is our crook."

I just don't understand voting for someone who is campaigning on the premise of taking away your rights. Not just gun rights but speech and press rights with the Fairness Doctrine.

BTW I don't support the RINO, but I do like Palin and she may be the president in two to four years due to McCains health. I was voting for Bob Barr tuill Palin came along.
