I find myself amazed at just how un-observant some people are.

Maybe this is a product of my belief in the gospel of situational awareness, but some of the things people miss is just beyond me.

A good example is the guy I work for. The most recent example that set me off happened Friday. See, I went camping over the weekend, and I decided to just leave straight from this guy's house (where I work) and skip town. As such, I packed up the bike with all my gear in the morning. Now, we're not talking about an insubstantial amount of gear. We're talking saddlebags, a tend and sleeping bag tied down on the passenger seat, and a ginormous tank bag to boot.

We're talking about the difference between this:

And this:

Anyway, he wasn't there when I got there, but showed up about a half-hour later. I know for a fact that he had to go right by the bike parked on the curb on his way in. But at about 3:30 when I got up to leave, he seemed surprised that I was going out of town. I mentioned that that was the reason for all the luggage on the bike.

"Oh wow, I didn't even notice that!"

Of course, this is the same guy who also, to my knowledge, never locks his house either.

I guess it just goes to show that some people really do stay in condition white 24/7...

That's just plumb amazing. Missed the bike and never locks his house. Somebody needs to pray for that big dummy. Lots of somebodies, if he expects to see retirement.

Also,wheres your front faring?

Well, there's a piece of it out in the garage, if that tells you anything. Sort of a reminder to me that it's much smarter to wait until the bike stops before getting off.

:P
