Im am really suprised they did not get Fed. time and a jumbo fine,10's of k"s

Yes they are a FMB since the one guy took a plea deal I guess that is why his was not in fed court. Now the other "smart guys" who pleaded not guilty you may see them in fed court.

I'm one of the "old" hunters, from the fifties. As a boy, just learning to hunt, fish, and how to be a decent human being, I was taught that you never take more than you can use, be it game, fish, or wild fruit from the woods. I was always told to leave some for the other people that could use it too. I consider it one of the best "lessons of life", I was taught as a kid.

It wouldn't surprise me, if you were to look at these guys parents and their up-bringing, to find they had parents just like them... all for me, and let the other guy fend for himself. I'm not making any excuses for these guys, and killing all those ducks was wrong, but, I'll bet they have a bigger problem in life...a total disregard for any and all laws that they think they can get away with.

Yes, they should be punished, and taught the lesson their parents should have taught them many years ago... abide by the law, respect the people and the land like others do. Real hunters don't hate the game they're hunting, nor kill just to see them die, ( with the possible exception of some predatory species) they have an appreciation for that game, and don't abuse the right to hunt and harvest food for their families and their friends. This total disregard for our laws of hunting are a symptom of a deeper, more sinister, lack of conscience, IMHO, and as someone said, give all of us hunters a bad name.

I would never put wildlife above humans, but they should loose the right to hunt for a long time, just for my two cents worth.

Why do they call it common sense, when it's so uncommon? TN Sen. Fred Thompson

My same question came from CJR. I thought the migratory bird stamps purchased went to the feds. "Over the state line" ie; migratory, makes them feds property I thought. I don't know what the purpose of this was. I just know the result of what is pictured ventures into newspapers, tv, and any avenue the anti's are looking for to hang us all. If we want our kids to hunt freely we have to knock the crap off or with no legal hunting all we'll have left is poaching. I don't know how they (anti's) treat you there but they HATE us here. They go throught the woods banging pots and pans and raising hell in popular spots. They are a big part of tags. They take donations and put in for the tags then don't use them. We are at war with these people and we can't give them the amunition to put us away for good.

That's the last he'll see of that truck, guns and possibly loss of license in TN for possibly life. I forget who it was, maybe Mike, said he wants to know who he's hunting with at all times. I second that. I got inadvertantly involved in a federal investigation on poaching. I had nothing to do with it but somebody in the hunting party was. I had no idea they were baiting illegally and killing federaly protected animals. No kidding he had transported us by boat so the feds took his boat(1.5 Mil crab boat) took his guns, fined him 150K cash, and loss of license for life. Myself and the other guy he tansported were assigned protection until he was escorted out of state. If it's the feds watch out!

Didn't mean to go on but besides family I have my guns and my hunting and I want to keep them all.

The sad thing is most of this was just swept under the rug so to speak. Best as I can remember they all got off with basically nothing more then a slap on the wrist considering what happened.

If we do not take back the laws and stop playing politics with "special" people there will not be anything left for the honest. That is why I am "the Nazi that I am " when it comes to hunting.

I agree. I want to pass the heritage on to my three sons.
