In need of an AAC Flash Hider Tool

Recommended Posts

Picked up a rifle with an AAC 51t Blackout mount on it and it needs to go.  Have tried with no luck getting it off with the small flats on the side and a strap wrench.

Hoping someone in the Nashville area might have one I could borrow long enough to get the mount off?

Thanks,

Verne

They usually put loctite on the threads.  Blue you can get off, red takes like 95 pounds.  Good luck!

Red Loctite gets loose or pliable after being heated you may have success using a blow dryer w some patience or a heat gun, be careful w the heat gun if u go that route. Apply heat around the threaded area of the component and immediately attempt removal before it cools off
Hope this helps Edited by Dustbuster

Have already tried heatig it with no luck.  AAC sends Rockset with these and seems like who ever put it on used all of it.

If you tried a hairdryer/small heat gun that won't be enough, Red loctite requires the components to be heated to 500 degrees to release the bond. I typically use a torch.

If it is in fact rocksett, it is much more heat resistant which is why it is shipped with suppressor mounts.

Also consider cooling the barrel with ice once the hider is nice and hot. That'll help separate the threads a little more.
