So some HS kids wanted to have an America Day (Merica Day as they called it) to celebrate the United States and being an American. The school administration said no because they do not want to make foriegn students feel uncormfortable with the American students showing Patriotism. .

So the kids said :Well lets do an "Our Country" day so that students from whatever Country can celebrate their Country. And the school administration said no because Americans would be celebrating the United States and they did not want to make foriegn students uncomfortable or insult anyone.

But these same students are REQUIRED to Celebrate Cinco Di Mayo (Which BTW was actually a major defeat for the Mexican Army by the French), and wear the Mexican colors.

Kinda reminds me of a couple of years ago when American students in San Antonio were required to sing the Mexican National Anthem and California had a school conduct a Pledge of Allegiance, to a Mexican flag, made a requirement to celebrate Cinco di Mayo and sent students home, suspended, for wearing US Flag T-Shirts.

The School in Colorado finally did allow "My Country Day" but not until Tod Starnes, representing Fox News, called the school.

“They said they didn’t feel comfortable having a day celebrated where students might feel uncomfortable with the patriotism that students are showing,” one of the students told me."

They have already reversed course, but of course are making excuses.

Kudo's to the Sheriff and others of that county who stood out in the cold to show their support for the students and country.

“They”… should be outed by name and position. Not allowing them to have a patriot day while requiring them to participate in Cinco Di Mayo, a celebration of Mexican Heritage and pride is ridiculous and will only help to foster hate.

“The students and parents who talked to me about this incident have asked to remain anonymous. The parents feared their children might face reprisals from liberal educators”

I guess some community members need to get involved that don’t fear the school administrators. Sounds like the VFW, DAV and other Patriots need to make a public statement to these school administrators.

I wonder just how many kids are in that high school that are not American citizens or plan on becoming citizens.

When students first proposed "Merica Monday," we felt that it was against this unifying theme and disrespectful to our country. Merica is a slang term that is often used in a negative stereotypical way to describe life in the United States.

What he actually mean was "Using the word America in any form is disrespectful to our Socialist all inclusive way of life"

This actually pertains to a Honey Boo Boo redneck party. But is appropriate.

"Merica" A whole new way of saying America. As America falls into the category of a nation, Merica is the whole experience of America summed up in a stereotypical way. Eating anything deep-fried, shooting shotguns, getting so fat you attempt to use the force to levitate it off the coffee table, all compressed into one word. People often say it when they see Americans doing things only Americans can do, such as: trimming a hedge with a chainsaw, eating quadruple burgers with extra lard, and driving tractors in the middle of a freeway. It is often expressed in a proud and commonly exaggerated manor. This phrase is one to be only used when the time comes to say it, like at a eating contest or at a mud pit wrestling match. As there are so many people in America that truly express what the word is all about, there is one family that pushes it over the limit. They are commonly called the "Honey Boo Boo Family"

And oh yea, Georgie Bush and Bill Clinton both say "Merica". But of course one is from Texas and the other from Arkansas.

At this point Colorado is East California.

I lived there for many years.  It is a beautiful place, with many fine people.

But there has been a flood of Californians moving there since at least the late 80's.  I think it is past the point of no return politically and I lament its downfall.

I'm hoping the natives will fight back. There have been some signs, like chasing 3 libtard politicians out of office.
