I picked up a new Glock 41 Gen 4 at the local gun show this last weekend.   Changed out the sights with Warren Tactical/Sevigny Rear and Dawson Fiber Optic Front.  I plan on taking it to the range this afternoon to see how she shoots.  I also contacted Storm Lake Barrels this morning and a representative for Storm Lake told me that they just got the barrel for the Glock 41 and will be producing an aftermarket barrel as soon as they can.  I will have a range report later today.

Here is my range report for the new Glock 41 Gen 4 in .45 ACP.   Over the weekend I purchased the new Glock 41 Gen 4 at a local gun show.   The price of the gun was reasonable, but it will most likely come down a little over the next few months.

The gun looks just like my Glock 34 and 35.  The frame of the gun is the same as the Glock 21 Gen 4 and the slide width is much slimmer than the Glock 21 Gen4 and it measures the same as the Glock 34 and 35.  The Glock 41 Gen 4 also fits into my Blade-Tech Holster for my Glock 34 and 35.  That’s great because I don’t have to spend more money on a new holster.  I added a Warren/Tactical Sevigny Rear Sight and Dawson Fiber Optic Front Sight.  The gun does not come with an extended slide release, so I add that also.  I have ordered a GlockWox Fulcrum Trigger for the gun, but I did polish up the stock trigger, connector, and safety plunger.

At the range I shot 50 rounds of Remington UMC 230gr FMJ and 80 of my own reloads 230gr FMJ.  My reloads consisted of 5.0gr of HP-38 with a C.O.L of 1.245.  I first shot the 50 rounds of UMC not really concentrating on accuracy, but just getting a feel of the gun in my hands.  The gun functioned flawlessly.  After shooting the first 50 rounds and trying to keep my hands warm I setup two targets, one at 7 yards and the other at 15 yards.  I shot 40 rounds freestyle at each target taking my time and squeezing the trigger.

The first target was shot at 7 yards and the second target was shot at 15 yards.  At 7 yards the rounds hit just a hair left of center, but I am very happy with my shooting.  At 15 yards some of the shots were a little more to the left of target, but still I was very pleased.

Overall I am very happy with the gun.  I am looking forward to shooting the gun in competition to see how it handles compared to my 1911’s.  If it does work well I still do not believe I will get rid of my 1911’s.  Thank you.

Any update on the Stormlake barrels? I just ordered a Barstow G41 barrel in order to shoot hard cast ammo. I'm really hoping someone releases a threaded 40 Super barrel. Any insight would be obliged.

What was the height of the Dawson FO front sight? I want to put the same sight combo as yours on my 41 but have heard different views on how high the front should be,anywhere from .215 to . 235
