Gun buyback fail - Bring your own tissues

I like the comments better than the article. This one in particular really shines:

Participating in a gun buyback program because you think there is too much gun violence is like getting a vasectomy because you think your neighbor has too many kids.

These morons don't respect or know anything about WWII anymore anyway. Though I bet this will not end up scrapped. Money talks.

It's in LAPD hands now. It'll fall off the truck on the way to the melting plant. ;)

Soon as I read the first line that Hartford turn in came to mind. Glad they covered it. Maybe it will force the lapd to show some morality. Highly unlikely but ripping someone off for a 30 thousand dollar gun and then showing it just shows how little respect they have for the citizens they are sworn to protect. They need to show some class. Even with Connecticut's restrictive gun laws., they did.

I think they should NOT give it back to the idiot that sold it. They should sell it to a collector or museum and use the proceeds to do some REAL crime fighting.

I think if they ever had one of those buy-backs around here, I'd be learning how to make zip-guns.

I'd buy as many Hi-Points, Cobras, Loricins, Jennings, and wall hangers as I could.

I thought the guy/gal was just an idiot and their own fault. Now reading that the plan is still to melt it down makes me want to cry. Not just an expensive gun, it's a piece of history.

For "history" to mean anything to a person that person must have a working brain with which to understand its importance.  Given that this is California and political hacks/government employees of California to boot I doubt you would be able to find two working brain cells between/among tham all; much less a actual working brain.

That is the most depressing thing I have seen ALL year long. Really, a real honest to god STG 44 and he gives it up for $200..... I want to go in a corner and sob now. Such a beautiful weapon, thats going to be turned into scrap. :squint:
