I am staying in the Franklin area are there any lgs in the area that any one has a good experience with?

Also I am wondering about this strange thing called a tax stamp? Does it mean that you have to pay an extrax10 cents per box of ammo on top of the of the sales tax?

Also I was told its not legal to have ammo with out the sticker?

That can not be right?

Go check out Franklin Gun Shop, if you want to see a lot in one place. Go to Nashville Armory, Guns and Leather or D&T if you want to buy something from a business that values their customers IMO. Much better pricing than FGS too. I'm sure there are others I've forgotten in the Nashville area but those are the best ones IMO.

Oh, everything weapons in Franklin/brentwood is pretty ok. I've only been there twice, had one good trip and one just so so. They're still pretty new though. I just get the impression I'm not tactical enough for them to take me seriously until the debit card comes out.

Oh the stamp thing, you'll get used to it, I just try to buy bigger boxes when I can. It's the same .10 for a 20round box as it is for a 440 round spam can.

I'm not sure on not having it, I've got boxes that have no stamp that I've bought out of state, never really thought about it much. I think your supposed to have them to sell ammo though, like a tax stamp on a pack of smokes.

Not sure if the burden falls on the seller or the buyer or both. Edited by TrickyNicky

your assumptions on the tax stamps are correct. when you buy ammo you'll see the ammo $, sales tax $ and $0.10 stamp tax listed.  It doesn't matter if it is a bucket of 1500 .22lr rounds, or a 10 round box of 12ga shells, it's 10 cents per box/container.  If you buy 100 boxes of something inside a case, you still pay 10 cents per box.

I think the stamp is on the seller. I can't see how they could enforce a second tax on a box of ammo I bought in MI 6months ago. Soft point 7.62x54r that you ant find around here. I am wondering about internet ammo though. JTM We the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......
