Does WW11 Captured Handgun Original Paperwork Add Value, Desireability

I have a Mauser handgun with holster from WW11,  (That is World War Two) in near fine condition. With the gun, I have the signed certificate, dated Sept 21, 1945, stating that it was captured enemy equipment.  I also have the authorization to ship to the US. Both certificates have the United States Forces European Theater Headquarters Official seal.

I would think a World War 11 mauser handgun would be quite rare and very expensive. We rarely see items from the future period. And you say that the owner of the firearm broke the prime directive and traveled back in time to 1945 and got captured? Please post a picture, we need to see this one.

I'm a semi-geezer and grew up with the ww2 guys being my uncles, dads, and mentors... I saw some fine ww2 bring backs; never have i seen one with "documentation"... As Austin said; i think it's a very valuable addition....

Yeah, I am geezer age and remember when this particular veteran came home from Europe.  A damn proud time for America. There was 12 years difference in his and my age.  He treated me like a son and married into the family.  I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. This particular gun is a fairly common item, but I've never seen any such paperwork. Just pure luck, his widow discovered the paperwork and asked if I wanted it.

I'm just glad no ones pointed out that I put down IX instead of X. :slap:

I didn't grow up in Rome.

(I will be impressed if someone knows the comedian is that I paraphrased.)
