Can I buy Rem 700 without the stock?

I am looking to put together a longer range shooting rifle to satisfy my itch. I don't want to be shooting out to 800 yards, just something to take out once in a while and have for SHTF. But I want it to look good. I would like to buy the factory action/barrel "upper?". In other words, the complete rifle minus the stock. Figured it would make it a little cheaper since I am looking to put a different stock on it. I want to keep the gun and stock under 1k if possible (before the scope).

Bass pro and the academy have 700's on sale all the time for around $500, brand new. Just pick a .308 version. A McMillan Basic F-Class Stock is $425 brand new but you might find them

cheaper elsewhere. That's all new for under $1k. PM me and I'll send you a premier web site for mid to long range shooting. It tells you about case prep, info on all kinds of ammo loads,

scopes, rests....you name it they have info of what's been tried and what works.
