Thumler tumbler FAILED

Yep, my Thumler tumbler model B failed me. I wondered when it was going to happen. I bought the darn thing in 1980, the same year I bought my K5 Blaser (not sure what scrap yard that's in now). So the other day I opened up the barrel after tumbling a couple hundred rounds of 45 brass, and the inside was BLACK....brass, media and all. The black rubber lining got so old and brittle, it finally disintegrated into a black powder mess. I mean really, don't they make anything to last longer than 34 years?

During my (made in USA) Thumler's 34 years of faithful tumbling of tens of thousands of rounds of brass, I only had to change the belt maybe four times. So I ordered a new rubber barrel and gasket for $50 and as quick as you can say more brass please...I'm back in business.

I wish Thumler made more than tumblers...like cars and computers! :usa:

LOL, well, we all gotta go sometime. I bought mine over a yr. ago, I think, ran about 3K rounds thru mine,

thus far. Absolutely love it.

Likely, after 34 yrs., I won't be able to tell a piece of brass from a tumbler.

That's great to hear Fireball. Quality is true value.

I agree, I wish more companies would put the effort into quality over volume.

If my 1989 Dillon FL 2000 ever wears out, I might just look into a Thumbler. :pleased:

I'm in the Thumbler club.  I guess I need to make sure this thing is in my will since it will out live me.
