I dont know if I ever mentioned it but my cousins, Brian and Thad Beckum own Beckum Outdoors and a production Company. (NOTE: This is not a plug for them, just thought some might be interested in watching some of their videos on their youtube channel). They build their own Flintlocks and Bows, everything primitive, and when they go in the woods they take nothing with them 99% of the time that is later than 18th Century. They teach survival, but not modern survival, they teach 17th and 18th Century survival, where you can walk into the woods with nothing but the clothes on your back and survive. My cousins live that stuff and have for as long as I can remember. My cousin Thad, and I am not making this up, can walk into the woods, pull crap off of trees, build a bow, make his own bowstring from things in the woods, hunt small game with it, feed himself, shelter himself, and do everything that any modern survivalist can do today without generators, modern weapons or anything else, and they do it all in the style of 17th and 18th Century. Hunting squirrel with a primitive, really primitive, bow is kind of a challenge, but they do it like it is nothing. I am not blowing them up because they are my cousins, but because I have watched plenty of video's of others who do what they do and no one I see does it better.

Here is my cousin Brian taking a deer with a Flintlock that he built himself, and they dont use kits. This is not a fluke either just because they had a camera out there. You can see that by looking at their wall on their website.

Here is my cousin Thad (Opening scene is one of my other cousins with him) making Rivercane primitive arrows and primitive arrowheads with stone tools, he has a knife in this video, it is a Flint knife, he made that himself also as well as the bow you see that he hunts with. This is more of a demonstration video of what you would see on the full video (Their production company sellfs videos)

These next two are hunting related. Taking deer with totally primitive archery gear, including flint arrows (All gear he made himself), this is 10 minutes from his full 2 hour video. Note he Pope and Young Buck he took with a primitive bow.  Hunting Rabbits with a primitive bow (Im sure plenty can do it, but first you have to go in the woods and make your own arrows and arrowheads, oh and you have to have a bow you made yourself, in the woods, and oh, you have to use stone and wood tools to do it). Yea, here is wearing jeans, but this is an Instructional Video.

Anyway, these are all 10 or 15 minute clips of their videos and you can see other clips if interested on the right or off of their website.
