Anyone Get a Notice from Amazon about State Sales Tax?

Amazon is supposed to be send email notices to all of the customers in Tennessee, telling them they owe State Sales Tax in 2013.  It is your responsibility to go the Tennessee Department of Revenue Site and download a form in order to pay the state.  Anyone get one of these yet?

How?

It's actually the embodiment of the 10th, ie, State of TN has decided to tax you, even though the fed hasn't.

I certainly did not want to incriminate myself with the use tax law requirement, hypothetically speaking of course.

If you paid the taxes you'd be obeying the law, not incriminating yourself, eh?

Of course, your postings tend to incriminate you, and completely voluntarily. :)

Am waiting on my atty to advise me on this. He's on vacation in Kandahar. Last thing I got was an auto message telling me I'd get a call back when he returns after Ramadan next lunar year. Guess I'll have to wait

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.

knew this was coming and it was the reason i don't use them.

Why? They did this last year and the year before if I remember right. What is wrong with them informing you of what your tax liabilities are? My bank, employer and investment firm all do that. At least Amazon doesn't send your purchase information to the state. There is no way for the state to know what your tax liabilities are, so if you choose not to pay it is no big deal.

I don't see why this is always some big issue. It's just a friggin email.

Yep. Only thing diff is that you actually got 3 years of no sales taxes from Amazon purchases, unlike from any other etailer with a TN physical presence.
