Thinking it was something along the lines of a stroke, or possibly a heart issue, while awaiting tests was told if I had even a single issue, further loss of feeling ect..to call 911 and head straight for the ER, that was because I was waiting on test results to come back, probably could have (And was actually recommended) to go to the ER and get checked in and request a transfer to Murfreesboro. Didn't have to, waited and Thursday went to see my Doctor, I have to say, she has been my Doctor since I moved to TN and is without question the best Doctor I have ever had. I mean literally the best in over 35 years. And that is civilian, military and VA.

Wasnt a stroke or a heart issue. Back in October when I was in that head on collision, and THOUGHT I was OK, 3 days later ended up going to the ER and was told I had bruised the area around my spine, didnt show up on X-rays of course but my back was good to go so it was the only thing it could have been. Prescribed meds and told it would be gone in about 6 weeks and it was, Doctor was right. But again I thought I was good to go. So I didnt give it enough time and 3 weeks later, this. When we had that collision, it was head on, the car was totaled and my head took out the windshield, didnt even go to the Doctor,  Figured no cuts, good to go. What I didnt know was my spine took a good whack. Being completely relaxed, going from 30 to a 30-60 collision and from 30 to zero in 2 seconds, while using your head to come to a complete stop, in 2 seconds, apparently will do that. Have also been told this twice now "Your NOT 20 and invincible any longer, stop trying to act like it".  Have taken plenty of hard hits, injuries, used to recover in hours, now it's freacken months or years and all those hits and injuries that I took 20 or thirty years ago and had forgot about, oh they bring back memories "Oh yea, I remember what happened".

Anyway, Doc spent two hours going over every single thing with me on my tests Thursday, prescribed a couple of meds, woke up this morning and can now actually use my left arm. Still have some numbness in my left arm, but nowhere near what it was, and the pain is minimized, still there, still get shooting pain but at least I know it isn't permanent. Asked my Doc if she thought I had had a stroke wouldnt that be a reason to take me right into the hospital? That message came from the NP, as a precaution, Doc said she knew it wasnt a stroke, wasnt sure what it was, but not a stroke, and the instructions were a precaution and warning. Said yes, if she thought it were a stroke I would have been put right in the hospital. But the elapsed time between when it started and when I went to the hospital told her it was not a stroke. But they did check out my heart thoroughly. In fact they checked out everything thoroughly, and explained it in detail.

So thanks again for the thoughts. Looks like I will be good to go shortly.

Great news!! Now slow down old man. I know it's hard to do that after an active life, but with the knocks you've taken recently; at least back off on the accelerator a bit.

Glad to hear that Tanker, great news! I mentioned on another thread that I had a similar problem as yours but mine was diagnosed as ruptured disc in my neck. After surgery to repair those disc, I have not had a single problem!

Glad to hear of this.  I too keep hearing that I'm not invincible anymore either.  Just earlier today I was challenged to do a summersault, as if I couldn't.  I'll have to wait til everybody is gone to try and see first. :nervous:
