But there's a catch .... It's CTD

You almost had me... I'll buy it from a shop and support the local economy rather than support those backstabbers.

CTD has been doing pre panic prices randomly on ammo... It's tempting but I just can't give them my money

They had some Lake City 308 for $229 per $500 I believe it was not long ago... Was tempting for me

Nope! I'll continue to buy TulAmmo from Walmart for $.60 more.

Agreed.... Sportsmanguide had this same ammo in stock at $94 per 500 about a month ago... I was able to snag a few cases

I will get some....

Oh wait.  They are not going to pay that much for me to take it?

Nevermind then.

the other catch is that it's lacquer coated Brown Bear.

Meh, I'd only be worried if I had a Loricin or Jennings but then, I'd never own one of those and if I did, I'd pay someone to take it, heh heh.

Nothing wrong with Brown Bear, It's good ammo.  Much, much better than Wolf.  Brown Bear is my "Go To" plinking ammo in 9mm and .223.

Too bad it is CTD.  I refuse to spend my money with them.

The one thing I don't like about it is that it causes premature barrel wear as they are bi-metal steel jackets. Granted I think it's like 1.5-1.7% wear but still.

I've shot Brown Bear before as well. I wouldn't call it good ammo, but I'd agree it works. I just hate that lacquer coating and how bad it smokes. Steel cases are also rough on your extractor too. Edited by BigK

Sorry, I would not shoot that stuff in my guns at any price.

Ive ran a ton of this ammo through my G19, P226, Hi-Point Carbine, XDS... Never had any issues and all my guns still function and shoot just fine... Sure it can be harder on the extractor and possibly the barrel the bi-metal jacket... But how many rounds before I actually run into a problem because of it??? Chances are ill never find out Edited by mcordell

They can choke on it.

Too bad, I used to really like them. Growing up my dad would get their catalogs and then pass them on to me. I'd drool over knives and stuff and couldn't wait until I was old enough to have my own money. Now I wonder how they're even still in business.

Agreed 110%

Because people, like my manager at work, don't care about that and will order from whomever they can get the best deal from and really don't have any morals about whom they order from. I'll admit, they have LWRC M6A2's for the lowest I've EVER seen em for but again, fool me once...

Meh. My relatively amoral bucks always take the opposite bent, I'd grab some if I needed it. Buy the deals, pass on the gouges. Viva 'Merica and common sense.

I would guess if your gun won't handle crappy ammo you need to get a better gun. :-)
