Ballester-Molina

That was a very interesting article. It seems the NRA has improved on their magazine content in the last few years. I'd suscribe just to get the magaznine even if it weren't for supporting their agenda.

I've seen the Balister Molinas at gunshows for years at what I thought were very attractive prices. I've debated on buying one several times, but so far I haven't.

The first handgun I bought was an Argentine M1927 copy of the 1911A1.  Made in a factory set up by Colt, it was very high quality.  Later, I bought a couple of the Ballester Molinas in the 1980's.  The excellent quality was still evident, and they always proved to be reliable, accurate pistols.  It's hard to find a good example for less than about $450 these days.  But, in my opinion, they are worth every dollar.

Sarco has them most of the time. When ordering from Sarco you can tell them you want the original mag and springs and they will send them free. The originals are replaced with new. My next purchase from them will be one of the Arcus High Power knock offs.

Man I can remember those for $100 on Southern Ohio Guns back in the day. Systema Colts were going for $125! Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk Edited by Moped

Interesting thing about the Sistema's - the first several thousand were made in Connecticutt.  The Sistema is simply a post WWI commercial colt.  Darn fine piece.

I saw a Molina at a gun show a month ago, refinished, import stamps, all the stampings ruined during the refinishing process. Asking price was 950.00 usd, Hard Pass.
