Two pleasant encounters in one night.

Made my way over to D&T Arms this evening after work. Had a transfer come in from PSA that had gone a little wonky on PSAs end, so that's always fun. It was my first time meeting David and another of his guys I haven't met yet either, unfortunately I didn't get his name, nice guy though. It was a pleasure to talk with David awhile about a few different things from tricking out a Nagant, to building and maintaining an indoor range, David struck me as not only one of the good guys, but knowledgable as well.

David, always a pleasure stopping in and thank you for keeping such a nice shop with patient and capable employees.

Second encounter was literally minutes after leaving the shop when I had the oppertunity to meet one of Goodletsvilles finest. Of course I initiated the meeting by waiting until he was behind me then making a I
U turn.

The officer was very proffesional, polite and understanding.

He politely listened while I explained that I did see him behind me, but I must have missed the no U turn sign.

He professionally advised me that U turns were against ordinance in Goodletsville, and he was very understanding when I told him that while I could in theory produce proof of insurance and registration, it would mean rummaging around my disgracefully dirty/uttered backseat.

(I normally keep reg and insurance in an envelope in my glove box, I had taken it out to write something on the envelope and just chucked it in the back.)

He opted to issue me a non-moving violation instead of making me pull everything out of the car on the street, plus he let me go with a warning on the Uturn. Pretty decent of him IMO.

So now I get to go back to Goodletsville next week to clear my name in traffic court. While I'm there I wouldn't mind a repeat of tonight's first encounter, I'll pass on a repeat of the second though. ;)

I just find it a little funny, having had two background checks done on me in about a twenty minute time frame.

At least I didn't have to pay for one of them.

Yep, David and his crew are top shelf.

I think I know where you made that U turn, there is a sign.

In fact there is a sign at every place to make a U turn on that road.

I like D&T they done a few transfers for me.

I do wish they would get out of the Rivergate area, maybe move and exit up to Longhollow Pike.

My Experience with D&T was excellent (TGO Lowers), I went back to pick up a ar wrench and talked a bit with them (300 blk and that 1911 that is calling me).. great conversation, best part they didn't try to sell me anything.. Once I get out of this AR hole I'm in, I will be back to D&T to get that 1911..
