Shouldn't just getting these guns back into their rightful owners and out of potiental criminals( aside from the thieves) be enough of a reward? I know sometimes it takes $$ to get people to be more on the lookout but Jeez.

Why? outpost armory put a reward up for their stuff, big one at that after they caught the thief,Crime stoppers pays for tips as well. no big deal benefactor or le it doesn't matter. It was a simple question, considering the amt of weapons being stolen in Ruth county it's becoming a bad epidemic. It'll be worse if bodies show up from stolen weapon use.

On a side note, not many missing.why were they not secured in a safe?
If there's no reward or incentive to get em back it's just another theft w no violence. It'll get reported on stats as a burglary.
It was nice of the op to help Buford and post the numbers. Buford's a good guy too I know him personally would help him any way I can But in all reality when someone really wants to recover something stolen in a burglary, they offer a reward and get the word out.You know where stolen stuff usually ends? Some dummy will get nailed w one of the guns sooner or later, anything else? Craigslist, backpage or,another pawnshop...not my work area just my reason for reward ? ,..... Edited by Dustbuster

There have been far to many break in's of gun stores recently for it to just be a coincidence. I'm guessing they might be gang related and that the gangs are getting armed better. I doubt you will see very many of these guns show up for sale. I agree that it was a nice thing to help get the information out here on the site...................jmho    I also agree that is you do not have a very secure building with top of the line security system with very good video surveillance on site then the hand guns should be put in a safe....................jmho

I understand the buisness owner released these serial numbers and descriptions, but it is my belief that this is one of the worst actions to take. If the burglar knows the items he has taken is known as hot, he or she will more than likely stash them away or throw them out to avoid being caught. If a criminal has no reason to believe police have an accurate description of the items stolen they will very shortly appear at pawn shops or on online classifieds. Not too many stolen guns are recoverd from basements, sock drawers, or lakes. I would say 95% of stolen guns are recoverd from gun shops, pawn shops, waist bands of criminals in the streets, or on traffic stops. Edited by Patton

i did a little homework on this, apparently there was some discussion on the rutherford co facebook thing over this and a comment from one of the owners of a gun that was stolen, details were sketchy, 2 pawnshops hit on a Sunday @ 5 am.I think some shop owners ought be getting up around 4 am on Sunday within eye shot of the store with a PD or SD number on speed dial.......unless dexter intervenes first....

I truly don't think they are breaking in to steal the guns to sell. I still think it is gangs that are arming themselves better. It's just happening to often for the guns to be sold. They are taking them for another purpose. Thing is there has not been any mention of ammo being taken. Just guns I wonder how much ammo may also be taken since in most cases ammo is about as hard to come up with as guns are in many cases and unless they plan on using them for clubs ammo would be needed..............jmho

Or someone has a connection with a gang in one of the bigger cities and can move them on the black market fairly easy out if state. Do you think gangbangers care if their piece is hot. JTM We the People of the United States, in order to form a more Perfect Union......
