Well it is still your right to not volunteer the information. They can not charge you, or anything of the nature if you don't volunteer it. They can get as pissy as they want to, personally I wouldn't lose sleep over it. I'd rather not volunteer the info and get treated like some street thug. Cops always want to disarm you for their safety, however a holstered weapon is safer than a wepon exchanging hands. That's just my opinion others don't have to agree with it.

There is just as much if not more anecdotal evidence that initially presenting your permit during a traffic stop gets you out of a ticket, and that the vast majority of LEOs will not care about disarming you.

Most of the officers I've encountered have been polite and professional in performing their duties.  After presenting my license and permit, none has asked if I was armed.  In each case, I was told to slow down and allowed to continue my business.
