My First Gun,

Oh Shoot

My first ever gun, Remington FieldMaster Model 121, pump .22.

Last production 1954.

Was under the tree on my 12th Christmas in 1960.

It looked brand new, dunno if it was old new stock from somewhere or just in great shape; it was sure shiny new to my young bright eyes! It was responsible for many a squirrel and dumpling supper through the years.

I actually sold it to an acquaintance during some tough times in my mid 20's, and bought it back from his ex some years later; it had been stored poorly and the finish had really suffered.

The elevation adjuster under the rear sight is gone, though, so don't know if it's still pert close or not. Thinking I might bring it along to the Norris shoot Sat and see.

OS,

That's a cool story. Glad you were able to get it back. :D

Btw, Cody and I shot this at the last gathering at Norris, accuracy seems quite good just the way it is...

Holds 14 LR, or 15 if you wanted to go cocked and locked. ;)

Brings favorite memories to mind of squirrel dumplings and many, many amazing afternoons/mornings in the woods, being quiet, hard sights . . . hunting. Great story.
