Why is France testing nukes to begin with? Germany will just rape them again if push comes to shove.

Not if they have nukes they won’t. It’s why I believe we have no business being involved in saying what countries can have nukes and what countries can’t.

Cancer rates have as much to do with modern medicine as anything.

 

There are exceptions of course, but generally we now survive long enough to develop cancer.  Add to that very stupid lifestyles and some long term genetic effects of modern chemistry.

The basis for regulatory pressure (and public perception) in radiation protection is essentially LNT....the idea that any radiation whatsoever has a detrimental effect.

 

However, it is probably not true, and the LNT theory has had some major hits in the last few years, with the tide slowly turning to the hormesis theory, that some levels of radiation are actually beneficial to health.

 

Health Physicists have been arguing the point for years.

Well, nukes are serious business...but given the number that has been detonated...it seems the unintended destructive potential has been overstated.
