I was recommended a book, A Desert Called Peace, by Tom Kratman, that is a work of fiction. Part of the book talks about possible consequences of this same situation. It was not good.

Agreed. Now every ethnic group is going to want its own set of laws and courts. You can't create a legal system that way. Britain might as well annex part of its land and set up an Islamic nation.

Jewish Beth Din courts operate under the same provision in the Arbitration Act and resolve civil cases, ranging from divorce to business disputes. They have existed in Britain for more than 100 years, and previously operated under a precursor to the act.

Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “The MCB supports these tribunals. If the Jewish courts are allowed to flourish, so must the sharia ones.

The should amend their laws and remove both parallel courts powers.

we do, but federal courts pre empt both of them. They can only try cases that happen on THEIR lands and they have no jurisdiction "off the res."

I agree with Jung on this one..remove them both. if THEY want to fight amongst themselves..fine..jews kill arabs, arabs kill jews..have at it...I say leave us the heck out of it, or let us settle the matter once and for all and erase both parties...at least neighborhood earth would be a lot quieter!

Being from the UK I am most disappointed and angry. It also makes me certain I will never go back and live in the UK again. I would make the following points.

1 If we are not careful it WILL happen here eventually, the Muslim population is growing and do not respect our laws so we need to learn and stand up for our rights now.

2 I doubt it but there might be a coming to power of a British National party who could overturn these laws and cause trouble and civil unrest.

Remember this was enacted by a Labor Government which is the same as the Democrats and the Prime Minister openly supports Obama!!

So sad to see this happen.

Britain might as well annex part of its land and set up an Islamic nation.

I think that is the first step of Radical Muslims... get a sovereign state within countries everywhere then spread within said state like a cancer.

Notice the problems in the Philippines... no real problems, then all of a sudden you have terrorists wanting a separate part of the land to be there own and to live under a strict Islamic Law. (Or at least that is how I view it.)

There’s a company that, because of pressure from CAIR, decided to cancel a secular paid holiday in place of Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim holy day marking the end of Ramadan. When I saw this story I thought for sure this was in Canada or perhaps somewhere in the EU or at worst Dearborn, MI., I was wrong. It was right here in Shelbyville, TN at the Tyson Food Corporation. Great, then what, we cancel Veteran’s Day and replace it with a religious holiday of one's choice? It has since been overruled by the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), however, this is how it starts. Slowly chipping away at what makes this country great until one day it is no longer recognizable. This decision along with others is the beginning of the end if we don’t stand up and talk about it. Political correctness is a symptom of the Fascist Progressive Movement we face today. We too are susceptible to what is happening in the UK. Adoption of Sharia Law is not meant for the assimilation of those particular Muslims, it is for dissimilation and the antithesis of “United We Stand”.

multi-culturalism in inevitable. seperate distinct laws and courts for different ethnic groups (aside from native americans on their land) is what should be avoided.
