NRA credit card, anyone have it?

So today I checked mail and got an NRA credit card offer. Looking over the paperwork it seems like a pretty good deal. It says on the letter "Every time you use your card to make purchases, a portion is given back to the NRA to help fund efforts such as protecting the Second Amendment, firearm education and training programs, at no cost to you."

So, anybody else have the NRA card? Happy with it? Anything else I should know?

First off, how much is the NRA getting? Secondly, why not get a credit card that pays you first then you can send whatever you want to the NRA. Amex True Earnings or Bluecash are good. Also Chase has some pretty good ones as well. Just a thought

I applied a few years ago when my credit was pretty good and banks were still lending to everyone, but they turned me down, no explanation. I couldn't see anything on my report that was a problem. I've heard the nra cards are very tough to get, and the bank approves only on their very strict standards, whatever that means. I was subsequently approved for other cards with similar or better terms so I called them to find out why, but they wouldn't say anything other than standard generic reply. So my advice would be to make sure you are in perfect shape with the highest possible scores before applying, so you don't get an unnecessary inquiry on your record that can hurt your score.

Im not sure how much they get when you purchase something...depends on purchase total i guess? I already have an amex i use for business expenses that i get rewards on, so not really looking for a good rewards card. Thanks for the advice.

I'll just stick to one that puts free bucks back in my wallet every year for what I spend anyway. I give NRA and NRA-ILA what I want to regardless.

Credit Cards should be taboo!  I grew up in house that my father thought being in debt was an embarrassment, and he didn't believe in credit.  When I was 20, found out how easy credit was and what I could buy.  It took 10-15 years to shake that habit.  I am anti CC now!  I discourage having one period.  Just say no!   Move on!

Credit cards are great, as long as you don't use them for loans. They're given me 500-2,000 bucks per year in free cash. For nothing. For spending what I would anyway in a much more convenient way than cash or checks.

Just like guns and liquor and wimmen, treat them responsibly and all is good.

Would you say you speak for the majority of CC holders, or likely a very ultra low percentage?  I for one have tried the discipline approach, and failed.  So I either pay cash (debit) or not at all.  I am so close to having my home paid for.  Then I am debt free!

As always can only speak for myself. I actually didn't do as well with the likker and wimmen, but so far so good with guns and credit cards. Batting .500.

I've had one of the NRA cards for at least 10 years. They have been good to deal with. They upgraded their website a few months ago and now I can never remember my password because they have so many rules on what it hss to be.

I guess im one of the few that are responsible with credit cards. I rarely use them, and when I do I always keep a low enough balance to where its paid off every month. Lets face it, CC's are a huge part of your credit score. Use them responsibly, it looks good on your report, use them irresponsibly, well you get the idea. Im in no way form or fashion shunning you for not using them, alot of people dont. I just personally see them as a good thing, a tool kinda, for your credit worthiness/history. (again if you can be responsible with them)
