I have always liked older revolvers, how about a Charter Arms Undercover 38spl? It's not a Smith or Colt but it still has prestige, Serial no 6459** it is very very good and possibly unfired. What is your value on it and overall opinion? I believe it is an older one when they were of great quality.

I have a Charter Undercover I bought in 1975 with serial number 358XXX. I read that they produced serial number 500,000 in September 1979. Based on that I would guess your revolver should have been produced in the early eighties. I like my Undercover and still carry it occasionally. I'm not sure of value, but would guess it would be in the $250 to $300 range.

If it is like-new then it would run about $350 for the blued model and more for the rarer stainless version.

I have not bought it but I am probably going to pass on it. It would be about $335, I looked at some older auctions where they sold for less. I may just hold out for another Smith or a more reasonably priced Undercover.

Make sure it's "Charter Arms" and not "Chartco" or "Charter 2000", and it should be solid enough.

I've got one from the late 60's or early 70's I believe, nice little concealable heater (actually at my Mom's for a few years now):

I wouldn't run +P loads in older ones, btw -- even the current ones aren't recommended to do that as steady diet. Not sure I'd value this at more than three bills, tops, though.

I like the undercover, bought mine about 6 years ago, IIRC $300 with a Galco pocket holster.

I practice with target/range ammo and load it with 125 grain +p.
