Slide engraving

I asked this about a year ago and dont think anyone had an answer, or I just plain forgot. Around the first week of next month I am sending off a 1911 Stainless slide for engraving. Thing is, it has to go to Louisiana and the turnaround time is quite long. For some reason I am thinking I already spoke with someone on here about it, cant remember.

I don't think it would be that complicated, but I don't know what is complicated in engraving since I have never tried it. If someone does it, wants to do it, I am not necessarily looking for a Professional (Someone who makes a living doing it) if there is someone, even a hobbyist that knows how to do it.

It will require some cursive writing and some block letters, a symbol and I dont know how they do this ,but part of it will require an inlay.

Anyone know someone who can do it? Dont care what part of the state, I can mail the slide. Anyone here want to do it? Ill pay accordingly.

I had my Longslide 1911 engraved by Jerry Smith. http://jerrysmithengraving.com/ He is in Nashville.

He did a very nice job for the price. I have been a slacker in posting it up because I don't have a nice camera and being stationed to Ft Bliss right after he finished it ( it's in the Nashville area). TGO member "Smith" on here hooked me up with him. It is his father.

There are many types of engraving with "hand cut " being the most expensive. Jerry uses a machine you can read about on his site that does the engraving and makes the price more reasonable.

He did a excellent job on mine.

Hey R1100R - - - Once you get back from out west, we have got to get together for you to show me that Longslide 1911.

I have another Colt .38 Super project coming together and I've been thinking about turning it into my BBQ gun....., Which of course requires engraving!

No problem, I'd be happy to. I need to meet the other member from Gladeville.

I can also testify to Mr. Smiths amazing abilities! If you go to his website. Jerrysmithengraving.com you will see his work. Mine is the sugar skull 940 revolver! You would have gladly paid 3 times the amount for the quality of work he does!
