RGF-1: RIFLE GUNFIGHTING I
February 22-23, 2014
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Instructor: Randy Harris

Rifle confrontations worldwide rarely exceed 300 yards. Rather than a long range marksman's weapon, our research shows the rifle will most likely be used just outside the reach of more conventional weapons, as well as within these closer intervals of confrontation.
This course will take the student quickly through the basics and impart the techniques necessary to deploy the Tactical Rifle, Civilian Carbine, or Submachine gun in a close interval emergency. This course is highly recommended for civilian defenders, military personnel, or police operators (we make no distinction in the material presented).
DURATION: 2 days TIME: 9:00AM to 5:00PM (range is on central time) AMMUNITION: Approximately 500 rounds (Minimum) and 50 rounds of pistol ammunition YOU NEED TO BRING: Spare clothing appropriate to the weather. Lunch, snacks and water (minimum of 1 gallon per person) for the entire day. Baseball or other style hat, sun screen, bug repellent, allergy medication (if needed), chair (if you have a problem with sitting on the ground, note taking paper/pen/pencil and a boo boo kit (band aids, gauze pads, antiseptic wipes, antibiotic ointment and tape). REQUIREMENTS: Rifle (any action or caliber suitable for use within 50 yards), all weapons must be equipped with a sling, also bring a pistol with at least (2) magazines, a belt, holster, magazine pouches, rifle ammo pouches, and ear & eye protection (knee and elbow pads are strongly suggested). CLOSEST AIRPORT: Click here for nearest airports

Range is a private range 35 minutes SW of Chattanooga. Range is on Central time.

Due to work related circumstances I can't be certain if I'll be able to make that weekend at the moment. Is there a deadline to sign up and if so what is the date?

You can sign up any time between now and Feb 21.

To get your certificate at the class you will need to sign up by Thursday Feb 13. The class packet including the certificates and class roster is mailed to me the Friday the week before class from Arizona.

You can still sign up for class all the way up to Feb 21 but your certificate will not be there by the class. They will mail it to me after the class and I'll then sign it and mail it to you.

Thank you for the explanation Randy. I received the green light from my supervisor today so I'll be in attendance. Will be very eagerly awaiting it in the meantime.

The Rifle Gunfighting class taught by Randy Harris was outstanding. Randy does a great job of breaking skills down to their basic parts, instructs those parts, then building on them incrementally. Before you know it you’re doing back flips and throwing tomahawks.    (joking)

The dry work we did the first day with weapon manipulations and shooting position gets everyone on the same page, so in the afternoon when we went live there were no surprises.

The second day reinforces the skills learned the first day to which more skills are built on to.

A little tip: Knee pads make life more comfortable. Sure you can make through the class without knee pads, but it is much more comfort kneeling in the mud with knee pads.

Another tip: Slings that are long enough to go over your head and around your body can go in front of the muzzle. But you have to be a great High Speed/Low Drag Mall Ninja Jedi Master with 10 pens in your pocket like myself to shoot right through the center of your sling when it is in front of your muzzle while busting off the X.

Thank you Randy for a great class.
