PSA. I linked you one in your other thread. It does NOT come with charging handle or BCG. They have one that does but you can buy those two items seperatly and save $20.00

Some reported imperfect barrels on the ptac stuff but I believe PSA made it right for those effected and have it under control now if I recall correctly.

Sorry, For some reason those links didnt pop up on the ipad I was using last night. Since we aren't supposed to use work pc's for personal stuff.

Palmetto State (PSA) all the way.  They have sales every single day so just keep checking for what you want.

PTAC is their new low-end brand that had some rough bore issues reported (none that affected accuracy that I'm aware of) but they're straightening that out.  Those are dirt cheap uppers.

The PSA brand itself mostly have barrels made by FN, chrome-moly, chrome-lined, etc.  Just be sure to read the descriptions very carefully.

One of this weekend's specials......http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/mid-length-a2-profile-premium-madness-16-cmv-chrome-lined-stripped-upper-without-bcg-or-charging-handle.html  I bought the very same upper over a year ago and it is excellent in every way.  If you don't want that then they have plenty of others, just don't ever buy one that's not on sale because the next day they'll drop the price.

PSA doesn't sell anything without an ejection port cover or forward assist.

AWESOME! Now the question is, is why is this one cheaper than the others for a complete upper?

Did you read my first post?

PTAC is their budget brand.

Sorry, I was too excited and completely overlooked the PTAC part. Work is really slow. So between looking for parts and watching the paint dry, I may have zoned out.

I don't know but I have always had an issue that is worded with both the words   Good and cheap in same sentence.  I realize that many folks use it and I have often wondered how it can really work out to be Good and cheap. My preference if I were looking for an item I would prefer it to be  good while also inexpensive. Not picking on you for this RC3 because I have seen the same request many times made by others. Just thought I would see what folks thoughts were on the Good and Cheap would mean to them............. :ugh: :ugh:

Has any of us actually used the ptac? I'm tempted by them, but looking for a test bunny first...

Thats a bit harsh, but I am going to buy it and see. Placing the order now. Just trying to figure out when it will arrive.

Next build will be a spikes for sure. I'm just using this a test bed since it will be my first build and I need to get acclimated with the ugly if the need ever arises.

Bought the complete PTAC upper. Will have pictures when it arrives. Until then, I shall swim in tears for more money spent. Then again, it was just a flat $289. As long as it doesnt explode, I will be happy.

Crunched all the numbers together. This AR once finished will set me back $460. Thats not all that bad for a AR 15, just need to find a rear sight and I am good.

I have a PTAC upper, see my thread in the show and tell page. Going to shoot it tomorrow and see how it does. The finish could be better but for a cheap range rifle I am happy as long as it shoots.

That's a great price point to have gotten into the platform. You're sure to become addicted now. :)

Yeah, now 2 ar 15's, 1 ak 74, 1 C93. Does this ever end? I feel like heroin might be cheaper.
PSA has their rear sites on sale for 39.00 http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/psa-aluminum-flip-up-sight-set-same-plane-for-railed-uppers-14860.html I have a couple and they work/mount fine, I just had to tighten them down. I have had great luck with PSA uppers and parts
Do those sights work? I've been reading horror stories about them on arfcom. Not tightening down, stripped mounting screws, etc. I was looking at replacing the MBUS sights on my AR but was kind of worried because of all the reported problems. Edited by jcj
