Stupid yes but only applies to stoves being built after 2015 prior to that if the proposal gets the green light are not included.

In reference to Governments out of control spending and taxation Ronald Reagan stated - â€œGovernment’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.” 

 

FIFY, I see a lot of Liberals put it that way making it look like that is actually what Reagan said, which is not what he said.

Wood stove emissions have been regulated for a long time. Past emission requirements drove technology that made significant improvements to efficiency and reduced fuel usage that likely wouldn't have happened otherwise.

The 2015 version is just another update. And it's not like they're outlawing old stoves or even phasing them out.

But I do agree that surely they have something better to worry about.
