Chicago's ban on gun sales violates the Second Amendment, rules federal judge:

National Rifle Association lobbyist Todd Vandermyde applauded Chang's decision, saying the fact a federal judge appointed by President Barack Obama "ruled in favor of the Second Amendment, shows how out of step and outrageous Chicago's ordinances really are."

The judge was wrong when he said the governmeny had a responsibility to protect its citizens. The scotus has ruled the opposite. It would have been more accurate to say the government has a duty to not harm its own citizens, but protecting them in general is not anywhere in the constitution.

a judge can rule however he wants to, Chicago will do whatever they want to.   I doubt the politicians in Chi-town really care about some court ruling.

There's a long history of flaunting the law in Chi-town. So this probably won't impress nor worry the politicians very much.

I treat Chicago like the sewer-hole it is, I don't go near it.

Unfortunate for you and anyone else who has this opinion. You are missing out on a great city. I find that most who have this opinion have never been there or have any idea where the real issues are in Chicago.

Does it have it's issues, sure. Is it silly to call it a sewer hole, absolutely.

I've been there, my brother lived there for about a decade. The city has some great stuff to see, so do a lot of cesspools. I live in Memphis, so I know a thing or two about crappy cities. There isn't anything wrong with Chicago that a squadron of B2s loaded with napalm couldn't fix.

This was a ruling by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The last ruling (addressing carrying off your property) was by The Illinois Supreme Court. Chicago politicians will comply now or they will start getting replaced.

For the last state to have carry; the rulings coming out of Illinois are going to impact gun rights a lot. This is one of the reasons I have said that we are not losing our rights; we are getting them back more in the last few years than we have in the last 50.
