Fellas, go ahead and start laughing now..

I've moved and misplaced the key for my trigger lock on my 1911. Is there any way to get the stupid trigger lock off, without getting looked at like I stole it.. yes, I'm pissed because I decided to place it where my HH6 keeps her ****, err stuff and my business cards, I saw it once since we've moved in, but haven't seen it since..

:D:D:D

Drill it?

ETA: I assume its one of those that you buy at Walmart and the like and install inside the trigger guard around the trigger.

Need to know what type it is before I can be much help. Pictures would be great.

Post a pic and state the maker, someone probably has one just like it (mine are all in a box somewhere). You can then deal for them to just mail it to you. Of course rent or purchase price just went up since DEMAND just went sky high for that too. Competition will hopefully keep the price down but you might want to contact your federal representatives to keep gouging to a minimum:)

Seriously, someone probably has a key.

Drill it.

Of course many of the locks are keyed alike, so that might be of some use to you.

Shoot it! Works in the movies, right?

Seriously, locksmith, drill, or see if any of your friends have locks and try their keys in it. As I recall, there aren't a huge number of different key patterns in them.

Drill or cut it. You might have better luck trying to work on the housing instead of the lock mechanism itself since those are usually hardened.

Thanks, fellas, I ended drilling it out. Since the move I've lost the keys to one of my cars (wife did actually), key lock, and Pioneer P1R Combo (car audio comp radio).. who knows what else...
