While shooting while my CZ52 yesterday, it jammed the slide with a round inside.  I can't rack it loose. I decocked it, removed the slide and I cannot slide the barrel back far enough to remove it.  I can see the round.  Before I get it looked at, any suggestions?  I shot about 35 rounds before it happened.

thanks, Bill

Have you asked around over on CZFirearms.us? There is a lot of specific expertise to be found over there.

Otherwise, my only suggestion is that if it's NOT a live round, I'd try to drive it out from the barrel with a wood dowel and a rubber mallet. Edited by BigK

I just took one apart and it looks like you are going to have to get that barrel back in order to get the rollers back to the cut out for them on the slide rail.

Some how you are going to have to get the slide to come back or the slide is going to have to go forward.

I once had to remove a stuck round (bad reload) from barrel. Th only way I got it out was by placing the front or the slide

on the edge of a saw horse OUTSIDE and giving the back side of the grip a good smack with the palm of my hand.

With that pistol using rollers your only option maybe getting the slide FULLY CLOSED then taking the barrel out.

I honestly don't know a SAFE way of doing this as I can't say if your firing pin is forward or not. If you do try to force the slide closed

it could potentially FIRE.

Unless I'm missing some other way of how to get the barrel out?

The only thing I know is the barrel has to be FULLY BACK to remove it from the slide.

Sitting here looking at one trying to figure out another way to that thing apart...

Normal drill on any shell-in-chamber-jammed semi pistol is to hold slide firmly in left hand and smack grip with web of right hand tween thumb and forefinger. Or even rubber mallet.

Tried that?

Sounds like it's more that just a stuck case OS, sounds like the barrel itself is stuck.  CZ 52's are a curious design.

If you actually got the slide of the pistol I would go ahead and remove the firing pin before beating on it in any direction.

Maybe point it downrange, hold firmly by the grip and use a rubber mallet to whack the rear of the slide and try to get it into battery????

Great ideas and there is a live round in it so I twill take out the firing pin and point it to the ground and give it a whack with a rubber mallet.

thanks

If you have the slide off, you can see the locking piece for the rollers.  Use the base of the magazine or other tool to push that locking piece toward the muzzle and it should unlock the action.

Well, finally freed the stuck round on the slide.  I checked the CZfirearms forum which was really helpful.  I sprayed some wd40 on the barrel, removed the firing pin, and then waited a week or so.  This morning, I attached the slide, slammed the magazine a couple of time, then tried to pull the slide.  On the second pull, it came back and out popped the round.  It was slightly scratched on the rim. I am guess since this gun was from my Dad and he bought it years ago unfired, I am thinking it was maybe a break in issue.

So once the snow stops on NE TN and it warms up, I'll head out to the range again.

you might double check your ammo.  7.62x25 is hot to start with and some years ago there was some imported that was reeeallly hot, mainly made for sub guns (even though most all of it is anyway). Can't remember the country of manufacture but I've heard others talk about it. The CZ forum would be a good place to inquire.

The only time I have seen this was with the surplus Bulgarian ammo that had split necks.  Some of them were so out-of-spec that they would not chamber.
