Desert Tactical Arms of Utah has made a decision to turn down millions of dollars in business and not sell guns to Pakistan.

Desert Tech was approached with the opportunity to sell precision rifles to Pakistan in November. The company turned the deal down this week because of fears the guns could eventually be used against U.S. troops.

Never heard of them, will be looking them up.

I detect BS,they have to get state department approval before doing anything weapon wise w a foreign govt. state dept prob shot em down or they didn't want to deal w the red tape. There's no better sale than a govt sale if it's done correctly administratively speaking. Barrett refused to do business w California but he could afford to tell em to screw off. We're talking a 100 rifles w calif vs well over 100 w Pakistan. Pakistan sucks to deal with, glad they passed...feeding everyone the patriotic bs just makes it more difficult for anyone else to do it. Watch Saic or Grumman or someone else jump in to sell em a assmaster 1000.....

According to ABC News in Utah, they won the contract worth 15 million. And did change their minds and turned it down.  I dont think they would have a problem with paperwork, since they already have several other Government contracts including the Australian contract.

From Nick Young, their CEO on their promotional FB Page.

"In 2013 we faced a moral dilemma that I wanted to get some opinions on. The current US administration is sponsoring FMS arms sales to Pakistan forces. In 2013 We had been approached with a multi-million dollar opportunity to legally supply sniper systems to Pakistan. I was never in the armed services but we employ several military veterans. Our greatest fear was that our equipment might be used against US troops. I started this company to protect Americans not endanger them. In consulting with other arms companies the general responses I got was, if they don't buy it from you, then they will get it somewhere else, or money is money. After much internal review we elected not to sell to Pakistan. I wanted to throw this out to our military friends to see if our concern was legitimate and hear your thoughts on it.

Thanks

Nick Young"

The only people complaining on his FB Page are Pakistani's. He is getting support from Military organizations and other manufacturers.

Initially I thought the same as Dustbuster, this appears to be a company that actually gave up a 15 million dollar contract for reasons brought to him from his Veteran employees. If that is the case, and it gains him some publicity, good for him.

Yeah, after reading the articles, there's no doubt in my mind that this guy is the real deal. I don't know if it will turn out to be as lucrative as the 15 million dollar contract, but from a PR standpoint, this was a very good move. People who otherwise wouldn't have spent money with this company will now be a little more willing to open their wallets. Hell, like many, I had never heard of this company before you posted this article.

I've heard of the company prior to the name change and looked at their offering, which by the way are nice rifles, a little rich for my blood, but definitely good kit.. I doubt that this will trigger more companies to speak out, because at the end of the day $$$$ talks. Good for the company to stand by their laurels.
