Why couldnt I discover World Market when I drank Beer?

I always thought World Market was just another overpriced boutique grocery store, have never bothered going in. My daughter is visiting and told me about it and we stopped in.

Counted over 150 different types of beer and that was only on three racks, there are about 10 racks in the one at Hamilton Place. She told me the one in Mobile is like that but not beer, Wine.

I did notice a LOT of the furniture in there was Made in Vietnam. But the food they had was the real deal (International foods).

My wife likes Root Beer, took her home 6 different types of Root Beer, none that I had heard of before. Same with Chocolate Cream Soda, I have not seen that since I was a kid. Not supposed to drink that sugary stuff but couldnt help it, one bottle isnt too bad and they had Moxie Original Elixer. I had only HEARD about that stuff, my grandparents used to mention it from way back. First time I tried Ginger Beer also. So far the wife has only tried some of the Boylan Root Beer and says it is better than any of the over the counter Root Beer you can get.

I know I'm late to the Party, probably for most. But I was pretty surprised, anyone who likes beer and hasnt stopped in there should go take a look.

I bought some "Pepper Beer" at the one in Nashville a few years ago and that was one big mistake! Darn stuff was so hot, I couldn't drink it! Wound up pouring it all out.

I've been in there and bought a few things but I avoid it because it causes my wallet to empty quickly... Their coffee is pretty good too btw.

Thanks,. I've never been in one. I'll have to check it out!

same here. Where is it at?

It's in "Nashville West" (Old Charlotte Pike just south of 40). I ignore the furniture but there's a fair bit of stuff that I miss from England.

Never been but may check it out next time I'm in Nashville. Would be nice to have a large beer selection and try several. Edited by jonathon1289

They used to have 3 in the Memphis area, which was too many. Instead of closing one or two, the dumb-ass corporate headquarters decided to close them all! Now the closest is the one off Charlotte Pike on the west side of Nashville. I stop in every time we are in the area, but wish they'd reopen one near Memphis.

Check the date on any beer you find there. I've found stuff that was over a year old. The "pick 6" at the local Kroger and Food City have similar selection at times.

I wish there was pick six here. At least there are some drinkable beers these days. It used to be a sad sight in the beer aisle at any of the grocery places around here.

Mmmmm, Moxie.

It reminds me almost of a nonalcoholic, carbonated Campari.

I like some of the novelty beers and sodas but as others mentioned its just too expensive for everyday.

They do I think carry the worlds best ever ginger ale Bruce Cost I think its called.

Stuff is awesome, unfiltered and delicious.
