Being new to the gun hobby I am wondering how diligent I need to be with care / cleaning of my 10/22? Also - if anyone had a link with some guides on care and cleaning of the 10/22, suggested tools to buy for taking it apart ot clean, that would be much appreciated.

suggested tools: a toothbrush, a .22 cal boresnake, cleaning solvent and some q tips and rags.

run the borestake through the barrel a few times with cleaning solvent right in front of the bristles. wipe everything else down with a rag and solvent. use the q tips on the nooks and cranny's. after that, a light coat of oil and you're good to go.
