Ringnecked Pheasant in TN?

I used to hunt them near Akron, and there isn't anything that compares to a big rooster pheasant flushing up out of a corn field during a heavy snow! It's a picture that stays with you forever. I hear from kin folk up there that they are getting hard to come by.

 

I sure miss it!

There was one old rooster that was pretty damn smart (or I was just pretty damn dumb)...when I would be out harvesting or getting ready to replant for winter I'd see that rooster every day EXCEPT for the days I actually brought my shotgun with me!

 

I'd bet that bird died of old age. LOL
