I am also working on my first AR build, but alas mine is but a parts pile so far.

 

I am working two builds, one is a pistol.  Did you see any other choices in good pistol buffer tubes in addition to the Phase 5 ?

I didn't do a lot of research on it but I liked the looks of the phase 5.  I have the pistol buffer and tube that came with the Alpha Sports kit I bought, if your interested in it, let me know.

I got the same kit. Went together pretty easily. Did you not like the buffer tube which came with the kit? (I haven't installed mine, I used a Palmetto LPK to put together the lower).
